He came to prominence 1976 and has won several leading tournaments in the USA, including the Masters Tournament 1980 and 1983. He has also won the British Open three times: in 1979, 1984, and 1988. Born in Pedrena, N Spain, he is one of four golf-playing brothers. He has won more than 60 tournaments worldwide.
